1. Information We Collect

Echoes Weather collects minimal data necessary to provide the service:

• Device Identifier: A randomly generated UUID stored locally on your device, used for API authentication and rate limiting. This is not linked to your identity.
• Analytics (Optional): If enabled, we collect anonymous usage data (app launches, feature usage) via PostHog to improve the App. You can opt out in Settings.
• Location (Optional): If you grant permission, your location is used to show nearby radar sites and weather data. Location data is processed locally and not stored on our servers.

2. Information We Do Not Collect

• We do not collect your name, email, or contact information
• We do not track your precise location history
• We do not sell or share data with third parties for advertising

3. Data Storage

Subscription status is verified through Apple's App Store and stored locally. We do not maintain accounts or store personal information on our servers.

4. Third-Party Services

• Apple App Store: Handles subscription payments and management
• PostHog: Anonymous analytics (opt-out available)
• NOAA/NWS: Weather data sources (public government data)

5. Data Retention

Anonymous analytics data is retained for 90 days. Device identifiers are not stored server-side beyond request validation.

6. Your Rights

You can opt out of analytics in the App's Settings.

7. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
